Harvest Underway

This has been an unusual year for weather in Northern Minnesota, with extremely hot weather and no rain. We typically have beautiful thunderstorms and plenty of rain for the crops, but this year the grass has gone dormant and we have been watering the crops regularly. Thankfully some of the heirloom flowers and raspberries are hearty enough to thrive.

We started harvesting portions of the garlic that were maturing early, and we are a third of way through harvest (4,979/12,358). We plan to harvest over the course of 3-4 weeks instead of having one big harvest weekend as we have done in the past.

We will cure the garlic for 3-4 weeks in the drying barn, then prepare it for sale on our website. We will let you know when we are ready to sell online. Stay tuned!
